We need to bring back the old internet
I am so sick tired of the modern internet. Everything is on platforms, every single website is AI now, ads, no one has any etiquette anymore, and there is no exploration to be had. There is something fascinating about the internet before like 2015. Forums are so neat to me, people seeking out places of likeminded people to discuss a topic. Yeah, the elitism sucks, but now if I want to do this on the same scale, it will either happen on reddit or (awfully) on Discord (which obscures everything due to how the platform works). There used to be beautiful things on the internet, like RSS feeds, that were unobtrusive and let you use the internet how you want. Like man, they had that integrated into a widget in Windows Vista. You could read headlines like a little news ticker right in the gui. I used an RSS reader until 2023/24, when AP killed their RSS feed. There are other ways I can do that now, but the point stands that all these services are killing off the remnants of the old internet. I miss that kind of Internet.
Now, all of this still exists, I can get on Matrix and have chat rooms, I can use forums, I can pay for a bot or something that creates RSS feeds, but either these are hardly used or are being actively destroyed either by AI or by companies in an effort to serve you more ads. I don't want to have to rely on Instagram to know about updates for events. I don't want to have to use Facebook to get photos of my marching band when they used to use a website. I don't want to have to use Twitter to know what is going on in the news. I want less algorithms. I want to seek things out. I want exploration. I want people to engage with things that they choose to. I want the internet to work for me, not have the Internet and companies tell me what I should be engaging with and how I should be engaging.
Man, I just want my RSS reader back.

Website is very clearly under construction
Yes, I pulled this off of a defunct css template site. However, I am trying to learn HTML and CSS and like the vibes.
I have no timeframe for when I want to finish this. I also strongly doubt anyone is counting.
Plus, it will take longer since I am editing this in vim, which i hate.
Look at this photograph. I took it on a Nikon from like 2011. It saved in 1920 x 1200p. I had to scale this sucker down, and it is still huge. I want this website to work on so many devices from so many times but it looks like it will be an uphill climb from here.
